代謝 体内でのカルシトリオールの半減期は、その前駆体であるカルシフェジオールの半減期が数週間であるのとは異なり、数時間で測定される。カルシトリオールは、1,24,25-トリヒドロキシビタミンD、カルシトロイン酸 を形成するためにさらなる水酸化によって不活性化される。これはCYP24A124-水酸化酵素 の作用によって起こる。カルシトロイン酸は水に溶けやすく、胆汁および尿中に排泄される。
