Català: Efecte de la insulina en l'absorció i el metabolisme de la glucosa. La insulina s'uneix al seu receptor (1), cosa que desencadena moltes cascades d'activació de proteïnes (2). Aquestes inclouen: translocació del transportador Glut-4 a la membrana plasmàtica i influx de glucosa (3), síntesi de glicogen (4), glicòlisi (5) i síntesi dels àcids grassos (6).
English: Effect of insulin on glucose uptake and metabolism. Insulin binds to its receptor (1), which in turn starts many protein activation cascades (2).
