It is known in Afghanistan as '''Qābilī palaw''' ({{langx|prs|قابلی پلو}}, {{IPA|prs|/qɑːbɪliː paˈlaw/|pron}}), and in Uzbekistan as '''Osh palov''', with neither country referring to it by the name of a city.
