金属磨き 家庭や寺院、特にミャンマー を含む仏教 アジア諸国では、果肉が真鍮製の祠の像やランプ、銅、真鍮、青銅の調理器具を磨くのに使われている。タマリンドには、酒石酸 という弱酸が含まれており、変色 を取り除くことができる。ライム も同様に酸性の果物であり、同様に使われる。
