伝統的な利用法 インドでは、種子を粉末にして、「kashaya 」（煎じ薬）、「arishta 」（発酵煎じ薬）、「vati 」（錠剤/丸薬）など様々な形で使用され、ギー （半流動性の澄ましバター）で加工される。いくつかの国の伝統医学 では、乾燥クミン種子には薬効があるとされているが、薬としての使用に関する科学的根拠はない。
