History

The Stanley Worksは、1843年にFrederick Trent Stanleyが設立したStanley’s Bolt Manufactoryと、1857年にFrederickの従兄弟であるHenry Stanleyが設立したStanley Rule and Level Companyが1920年に合併して誕生したものである。

第二次世界大戦中、Stanley Worksは、優れた戦争生産を行ったとして、陸海軍「E」賞を受賞している。

2004年、General ElectricでJack Welchの弟子だったJohn Traniに代わり、John F. Lundgrenが会長兼最高経営責任者に就任した。

Kwikset、Weiser、Baldwin、National Hardware、Stanley、FANAL、Pfister、EZSETブランドを含むHardware & Home Improvement Groupは、2012年12月17日にSpectrum Brands Holdings, Inc.によって買収された。
