Politics

Tofu has been used by politicians to attack their opponents. In October 2022 Suella Braverman attacked the "Guardian-reading, tofu-eating wokerati" in the British House of Commons, blaming them for obstructing the roads. In April 2025 Markus Söder, the head of the German Christian Social Union said that Germany could now look forward to more Leberkäse — a kind of meatloaf — instead of "Tofu-mania".
