Cofactor biochemistry

The enzyme holocarboxylase synthetase covalently attaches biotin to five human carboxylase enzymes:

• Acetyl-CoA carboxylase alpha (ACC1)
• Acetyl-CoA carboxylase beta (ACC2)
• Pyruvate carboxylase (PC)
• Methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase (MCC)
• Propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC)
