It improves [[tissue hydration\|hydration]], reduces itching and inflammation of the skin, improves skin elasticity, and accelerates [[Epidermis (skin)\|epidermal]] wounds' rate of healing. For this purpose, it is sometimes combined with [[allantoin]].
